Low emissivity (Low E) film is applied to suitable existing glazing. Its coating helps reduce heat transfer through the window, so a space can feel more comfortable during colder months. Selected films also control incoming solar energy and glare when the sun is strong.

How winter heat loss changes
Warm interiors lose heat through windows. Low E coatings reduce radiant heat transfer at the glass, which can help lessen the cold-window effect in suitable rooms. The result depends on the existing pane and the rest of the building envelope.

Some Low E films also reject incoming solar energy. This can help moderate summer heat gain and glare, especially on exposed elevations. The balance between insulation, daylight and solar control differs from film to film.

If you accept, we take a 50% deposit and arrange a suitable date. Our team cuts the film to size and installs it on the glass.

What does Low E mean?
Low E means low emissivity. A Low E coating is designed to reduce radiant heat transfer through the glazing. The result depends on the film and the existing window.
Will Low E film change the colour of my windows?
It depends on the film. LuxeShield Gold, Amber 35 and the Solar Storm options have different finishes and light levels. We can help you compare them before you decide.
Can Low E film be fitted to any glass?
No. Film and glass compatibility needs checking, including the glass construction and exposure. We review this before recommending installation.
Will it reduce my energy bills?
Low E films can reduce heat loss through suitable glazing, but the effect on bills depends on the building, heating use, glass and installation area. We do not promise a fixed saving.
